Cnaeus Pompeius Magnus (Pompey the Great). Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 4.14 g, 6 h), with Cn. Calpurnius Piso, proquaestor, military mint moving with Pompey the Great in Greece, 49. CN•P[ISO PRO Q] Head of Numa Pompilius to right, wearing diadem inscribed NVMA. Rev. MAGN / PRO•COS Prow of galley to right. Babelon (Pompeia) 8. Crawford 446/1. CRI 7. RBW 1565. Sydenham 1032. Nicely toned. The obverse struck slightly off center and with a small dig on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
